The Shruthi-1 is a re-engineered and spec'ed up version of the Shruti-1, with a choice of different boards for the analogue section. This time we won't say that we've ran out of vintage ICs, since it can work without (indeed the filter board used for this video only uses modern and widely available ICs) ... But if you have vintage IC, we'll have a filter board for that!

Lame video quality, lame keyboard action, but shruthiesque sounds and epic platypus takeoff!

  • Since the filter circuit will have to be duplicated by 8 on an 8 voices poly, I'd rather simplify it to reduce the board size and cost of the polyshruthi. At the moment, it's too bulky. Work with SSM2164 in progress...

  • sound like a 101!

  • wow, i want one! :)

  • C'est pas un canard, c'est un ornithorynque lol

    Est-ce que j'ai gagné un Shruthi-1 ?

  • @EATYone Ils ne sont pas des canards, ils sont des ornithorynques.

  • @Biopharmer It sounds a bit like a CZ-1000—not being insulting. It can be very warm and fat; or harsh, cold, and digital like a PPG Wave. I love it!

  • Have you considered making a complete polysynth out of some of these? Maybe 8 voices or such.

  • Lol on t'entend Olivier dire discretement: reviens sur le truc....Comment y s'appelle le canard?

PS: Va falloir que j'investisse pour polychainer moi, ça sonne terribeullll

  • Sounds great. I recommend using a tripod and turning off the camera's auto focus for future videos.

  • Sounds great! Truly the best sounding new synthesizer I've heard in a long time.
