It's time for me to start thinking differently about the things that I'm eating. Here's some background as to why I'm now going to embark on a new eating plan - as a LapBander I will need to be more creative with how I"m getting in my protein on a daily basis while I eliminate foods that might be activating my MS symptoms. Ready for another ride? I'll share as much as possible while I'm on this new journey :)

  • Thank God you are a fellow researcher! Google this and watch the WHOLE thing and you will have your answers. "Dr. McDougall Diet and Multiple Sclerosis"..... at about 33 minutes into the lecture you will hear what I feel is the most powerful life changing information. But please watch the whole thing. Take a break if it's too much info at once. I started researching food to save my daughter from Crohn's ..which I did. I've learned so much about diet. Now I'm helping my dear friend with MS.

  • Please Please watch his lecture. Your problem IS protein! You do NOT need all that protein. We Americans are told we need all this animal protein and our bodies are seeing it as foreign invaders. We make antigens to fight of ALL this animal protein and because of that all those antigens start attacking our bodies....WE are animal protein...hence~ your body attacking itself! You get ALL the protein you need from veggies, nuts, seeds, and fruit.

  • Have you researched Dr. McDougall?

  • i soooo missed this- I have pm'ed you on FB

  • I am sorry to hear that you are going through an MS episode. I have been diagnosed with MS for the last 11 years and I am researching getting WLS I am hoping it will help my body feel better by helping me to lose some much needed weight. I am glad I came across your video. I have not connected diet to my symptoms more so its been stress and hot AZ days. I have heard surgery's can trigger attacks and I am concerned about that myself. I wish you the best, take care...one day at a time.

  • Your such an amazing brave woman. Stay strong, keep fighting the fight agaist your MS. You have come so far now in your journey. I'm proud to share November with two Rockstars like Shaya & yourself. In fact, my surgery was Nov. 8th one day from yours, well two years and one day. Love the Hello Kitty BTW.

  • how can I find you on FB?? Mysurgery is 12/9..I have a few questions for you..Thanks so much!

  • Tamika my heart goes out to you - I understand when you say you just want to be healthy. This sounds like such quite a difficult journey. Maybe if you give up your animal protein, you can still have your legumes in moderation. To give up everything all at once seems overwhelming. I will definitely be here to support you and I pray you are feeling better. Love, Angela

  • My sister has MS and i watch how she struggles with it . They diagnosed her with it a few years ago . Some days are worse than others for her . I so feel for you . You have done so wonderful . I no it has to be difficult with all you have to deal with .: ) Christi
