i got this thing yesterday. THIS IS THE WORST SUFFERING EVER. It completely prevents your tongue from touching the roof of your mouth, which makes it hard to talk (pronouncing certain letters), swallow (if you noticed, when you swallow, your tongue goes up against the roof of your mouth to push food down the throat), half the food that goes into your mouth gets stuck up there, and you have to have it on for 6-9 months!!!! It's very uncomfortable because takes up a lot of space in your mouth.

@markolo25 You eventually get used to it, i think after a couple of weeks. But it will ALWAYS be in the way, and food will always get stuck up there. You'll be so happy when you get it off, and it especially sucks if you have this along with a set of braces like me :(

@GillRudiger no wonder my nose feels weird! and the top of my mouth feels really rigid and tight so that must be the bone splitting apart. ehh :|

i just turned the key 3 minutes ago. ow it hurts and everything is really rigid and tight. my nose feels weird. LOL

um i just got an expander, but im 24 yrs old, so my bone has already fused, so they had to anchor in 4 screws to the top of my mouth, setting them in the bone, and now when i turn the key to my expander, the bone is literally being slowly split apart. the doctor said if i start getting black eyes and pain on the bridge of my nose, i should stop b/c that means my skull is LITERALLY splitting apart!!

@ShadowiGeneral I had it i agree completely!!!!!:) When you get it of it is like an angel calling.When you get it of and touch the top of your mouth with your tongue you will smile without even controlling it lol.

Omg this is insane , I can't beleive the dentist want us to do this , every time I screw it , I get this horrible pain , followed by headache , for about in hour , then get used to it o_O I'm scared I will break one of my teeth doing this.
