Re: Street Preachers @ Hill Cumorah

It's hard to believe these men are Christian when they act in such a way.
True Christians would respect others and spend more time preaching love, and less time bashing others with contention.
Such an example from them only feeds my faith in the restored gospel.
"Every time they persecute and try to overcome this people, they elevate us, weaken their own hands, and strengthen the hands and arms of this people. And every time they undertake to lessen our number, they increase it." (Discourses of Brigham Young, 351)
One of the early foundations of my testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, happened was when I was around 12 years old at the hill cumorah pageant as a cast member. I remember walking outside of the gates to see these guys and all of their commotion. Just as I stepped out near to where they were, I remember feeling an absence of peace, and a very unsettling feeling came over me. Out of curiosity and to test the legitimacy of this feeling, I stepped back inside the gates to the hill cumorah pageant and immediately I could feel the Spirit of the Lord again. I assure you it was like night and day.

These guys act just like the Pharisees of old. They were constantly seeking out Jesus to harass or trick him. These bozo's do the same to LDS. Jesus never sought out anyone for the purpose of dissing their beliefs. You'll also notice that these folks don't really offer an alternative to what LDS believe. They're all about "here's what's wrong with you".

A Question to all the LDS out there: Why do you think these people (Evangelical and Fundamentalist Christians) will ever respect you? Why do you guys try so hard to fit in with them, vote Republican and in general act like them? I am an Atheist, but I used to be an Evangelical - and let me say those folks have a SERIOUS hatred of Mormonism. As for me? Me, it's not for me, but if it makes you happy keep up with it. It's hard to be happy. Peace!

"Show me in the Bible" Ok. Revelation 14:6, Acts 3:20-21, Isaiah 29:4, 11-13. Those are about the Book of Mormon and the restoration. Proverbs is a great example of something that teaches against contention as well as 2 Timothy 2:23, Luke 6:45 and many other verses.
