Sadko is a beautiful opera and it surprises me that it isn't more produced in the West.

I think the best of Russian operas belong with Mozart/Verdi/Wagner & Puccini and hopefully will be better known in the west. Fortunately many of the Russian treasures have been recorded.

And the opera Sadko contains a lot of really beautiful music sung by tenor, baritone, bass as well as soprano. A much too neglected opera in the West.

She's just lovely here. Thanks for the information. Golovanov is one of my favorite conductors - such style and energy. His Sadko is one of the great recordings of all time.
