Description:In the spring of 2008, I began attempting to integrate the use of blogging into my undergraduate writing intensive classroom in an effort to allow students to explore materials outside of those presented in class, to share their writings with their colleagues in a peer review format, and to create new threads of conversation. This presentation will cover my changing use of blogs over the past three semesters and present the steps I have taken and the milestones I have reached in fully integrating their use into the classroom. Roughly half the presentation will focus on pedagogy, detailing why blogs can be useful in the class and student outcomes and responses. The other half of the presentation will present practical beginning steps to using blogs in the classroom for those interested to utilize the technology.
