  • Without being disrespectful...... She is my "Great Grandmother," my sifu teachers teacher at Wudang. A lot of my Qigong comes from this line.

  • I think it's more a matter of wanting to live a healthy, strong life. Would you rather live to 70 but have your health be terrible and slowly deteriorate starting in your 40s? Have a heart attack or two first?

Although I believe I understand Taoism well, I believe that what's more important than longevity is living a life relatively free of pain and suffering -- imagine living into your 80s, but looking and feeling like a 30 year old, and dying in your sleep.

    That would be wonderful, no?

  • Yes, exactly. It's foolish to think the physical body can actually exist forever - even taoists know that. It's subject to the laws of nature.

  • @Aheyne

oh. she was lucky. how one would die awaken without disease ?. heard about any such case ?

  • @dhaval007mca Probably like my great grandmother. She died at 98, painlessly in her sleep.

  • @Aheyne

I mean without disease how would one die ?.

  • @dhaval007mca I have no idea. Historically, probably pneumonia.

  • @Aheyne

what is most natural way of dieing ?.

  • the laws of nature say that the body has the potential to live up to thousands of years.

  • i agree

  • alright in all seriousness; I think its wrong to have your life dominated by Kung Fu.

One day when I'm strong enough mentally, I genuinely want to help people.

Lao Tzu says, the sage is like water

"it can stay in places loathed by men." One day I hope to be so strong mentally, I can stay in a place loathed by all men.
