  • Lovely rabbits. I'm thinking of getting a couple of rabbits to compliment my little budgies. Can you adopt them house trained?

  • @averagegilo Its not an easy animal to house train and not alot of people do. i would be suprised if you found trained rabbits to adopt but i would assume there would be some. From my experience with house rabbits, next time they will be outdoor animals. Alot of time and attention is required for house rabbits.

  • @WickedWilli Can you keep one in the house, but it not be a house rabbit?

  • @averagegilo What do you mean? you can play house rabbits two ways..... It can be like a dog if calm enough but more likely to try make a break for it if the door is open. Or you can keep them indoor cages or like the one i made. I would always suggest buying a proper cage unless you;ve got alot of time and space. They need lots of room to express themselves.

  • What are you using to connect the cube cabinets together?

  • I used cable ties to connect the squares together, These could also be used as a hinge!, i changed the layout of the cage every week when i deep cleaned it, I used wood struts and cardboard to create dispoables shelfs they could climb on and therefore vary the size of there cage. Under the newspaper is some spare laminate flooring i had. Later on, i fitted wooden dowel all round the ages to stop the cage top slipping off and to help contain the poop.

  • I have a house rabbit and she doesn't chew furniture or scratch the floors etc. They make great pets. You are right, bunnies need a lot of love and attention and if you can't give them that, you are better not having one at all. Indoors they can live for up to 10 years. If you get them desexed there are usually few behavioural problems if any. Rather than buying one from the pet shop, you can adopt from a shelter. For every one bought at a shop, one is most likely put to sleep at the pound. :(

  • Argh its so friggin' cute.
