In saying that...the letters NATO cause allot of resentment in Russia/Eastern block countries (and with good reason) and so I think we would have to change the name aswell as the structure in order to accomodate the Ruskies...but the end result would be worth it. If USA/Europe and Russia united then we enter a world of limitless possibility....

Russia should join. why if something happened like 9/11 in russia NATO will be right there to help just like they were for us. plus the US (which is in NATO) is already fighting along side Russia off the horn of africa fighting piracy. weve been in thier victory day parade we were supposed to have a joint military excercise(cancelled cause of the Georgia confilct). plus weve been allies before. look what happened, complete annihilation of the Nazis.

It's not a matter of needing one another, its a matter of the potential of creating something greater then themselves.

USA + Russia would both have to swallow a lot of pride for this to ever happen. But i would like to think that the outcome would not only be groundbreaking, but the creation of a new golden-age of peace and prosperity.
