  • im making a custom box for my truck and i already figured out the design but where do i get the cloth to put over box and after that how do i fiberglass it.

  • @kyaeragon17 most people just go to thebargin bin at hobby lobby (where I got mine) or walmart. look for the bin with "miss-cut cloth" because then it will be super cheap. Many people use fleece, I used ponte cloth (stretchier and doesn't require as much resin for the prep-coat (before any mat is layed down). check out fiberglassforums dot com, they have everything you need to know there from materials, process, EVERYTHING! if you have any q's, just ask!

  • @bawward thanks and what is ponte cloth is that like polyester

  • @kyaeragon17 good question... I don't know for sure! It's much thiner and stretchy-er (important for when wrapping the wood portion of the box before laying down fiberglass mat) I also liked it because when you lay your initial base-resin coat (before any fiberglass mat is layed down) it soaks up a LOT less resin than fleece (but both work, most use fleece) but WHATEVER you want to use works to be honest... just has to be tight when stretched.

  • Looks really good Im getting ready to fiberglass my trunk and door panels.

  • @ImportRunner21 thanks bro

  • @bawward yea i think im going to do something similar but wrap it around the back of my trunk and add two twelves to go with my tens idk yet lol but ill try and post something on here and let people see it i hope it looks as good lmao

  • Yeah nice no prob

  • @IKESTERrocks Yup, to be honest, it's expensive for tar paper, but does make a notable difference in the car. Put it on my floor boards, all doors, rear wheel hubs, interior of firewall, rear deck, trunk lid and trunk floor, very worth it. Looking back, I wouldn't have bothered putting on floorboards or the firewall, not much really there, but would have put it on the roof instead (flexes like crazy and makes noise).

    thanks for the comment!

  • Frist guy with dynomat..nice
