Not just one of my first musical memories, but one of my first memories ever. In the bath on a Sunday night listening to the charts. Noddy's voice was fantastic and Jimmy Lea's violin on this just brings that time flooding back to me. It's so easy to forget just how good Slade were.

one of the greatest bands ever and are unfortunately known by so many for just one song - "Merry Xmas Everybody". Very few people know and appreciate the quality of their other songs such as this. Will always go down as one of the greatest bands of all time as far as I'm concerned.

Slade are one of the greatest and most versatile rockband ever. Recordholders for the number of real tunes that mean something to people. Continuously evolving to different styles and genres. They influenced Kiss, Status Quo, Oasis, AC/DC, Queen, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, the Ramones etc. and an entire generation of heavy metal bands in the US in the early eighties. Grossly underrated and mispercepted as just 'glam'.
