  • @pinkstickynote1 man I went through basic at Benning '08 and although we spent longer in the chamber there, the gas they hit us with at LDAC was much, MUCH more potent. I couldn't get a sentence out before coughing my lungs out

  • that's it?? they make LDAC seem so hard in ROTC, but this is nothing compared to what they had us do in the chamber for 5 minutes (not 5 seconds!!) at BCT!

  • WHAT? YOU WANT TO BE SOMETHING? TRY HAND LAUNCHED 'CS POWDER' DROPPED FROM, AND JET BLASTED DOWN IN A 64'S ROTAR WASH - SURPRISE.

  • Nice

  • and you dont have to do mask clearing. forgot about thaat

  • i was actually worried about doing this again. this doesnt compare to basic training at all. this will be a walk in the park

  • I like the way they do it at BCT better, this is sissy.

  • pussys

  • well, I wouldnt call it hazing per se... if this were their first time intro to NBC, then I would want them to realize the danger of the thing (by experiencing it first hand) so they wouldnt take it lightly. Then further training would be to improve how to wear the suit and mask properly... If they experience the CS first hand without suits, on their next NBC training they would very much likely to double triple check their suits and their buddies. fear can be a good thing

  • @dagomif Yeah I remember back in BCT they made us remove the mask in order to "improve the training". When I went through an NBC course in order to take charge of CBRN for my unit I learned that you are supposed to pretend the CS is a live nerve agent and you aren't supposed to break seal, but you are supposed to perform a variety of tasks in the chamber in order to familiarize yourself with the gear. Then I went to LDAC and saw this stupid crap. In my opinion CBRN training had more meaning.
