so say i use vmware and open a website that would normally infect my computer. with the virtual machine, though, my computer would have nothing on it?
i already have it with ubuntu Linux, i just need more os's i have win 98 but it is 16 or 8 bit and i have 64 bit pc, can anyone help me figure out how to convert the files so i can install it please help
I want to use a virtual machine to run multiple of the same application at the same time and run all day somewhat like a server, but it's not a server application. Anyways, when you run a virtual machine can you save the settings in the virtual machine if you shut down your main pc?
Ps. PC is running vista ultimate, hoping to have three virtuals running XP.
Thank you for explaining this! I am a newbie to the vm world. Very informative!

Yea, you can find out what happens if you drag "My Computer" into the Recycle Bin!
Haha!

You're going to need something like Partition Magic so you could install the OS on another.
