This is my offering into DenisLD's Wheat Beer Challenge. It is the Sunrise Weissbier from Victory Brewing Company out of Downingtown, Pennsylvania (outside of Philly). Not a bad Hefe. Denis, here's to you!

  • Thanks so much for responding to my challenge! I really like your description, makes me feel like I'm drinking the beer with you. I'll have to investigate into PA beers someday. Cheers!

  • Anytime, bro! I'm not big on wheat beers but loved the challenge. I picked up a couple and am glad I went with this one. I did a review of Franziskaner that failed miserably (I mentioned it I think, it will NEVER air, haha).

Glad you liked the review. I'm not much on a rating system but my intent is to share the experience as honestly as one can in this media.

You should definitely check some out. PA, and Philly especially, have some great breweries. Dogfishead is also a short drive from here

  • A review went wrong for me too this past weekend. As I did the review the taste was awful, but then later on it tasted like a totally different beer. It was probably my palate being totally off...and by the time I figured that out I didn't have any beer left to to do a re-review. Oh well.

    Good review.

  • It's funny, but I'm not big on wheat beers either. When I was just starting to get into the non-macro beers, German hefs were my favourite style, but now I've become an ale person, just can't help it.

Franziskaner is pretty good, I tried it in Europe. I liked their dunkel-weizen the most.

You know what, even though you didn't grade the beer, this review gave me a very good idea of what the beer is about. It's better than grading a beer and not commenting on what it tasted/felt like.
