Here is my Pokémon Battle Revolution match against Sashay in the Sunny Park Colosseum Little Battle on Rank 4, the highest rank. I did this ages ago but had a little trouble getting it on, but now I have. Don't ask me why it's 4 instead of 8, it just is for some reason. The Little Battle makes you use bred Pokémon that are Level 5 (or under), they must all hold different items as well, which is fair enough as Oran Berries are an awesome item to use in this one! Sorry I take so long choosing, I remember knowing what 3 to choose almost immediately, it was then choosing Aipom or Staryu to go first that I couldn't decide upon. But Aipom is a nice leader, so I went with it, and I think you'll agree it was a nice choice! I didn't think Staryu would be faster, but it was, they actually have the same base speed I later found, so I imagine we had the same speed stat and she just got lucky with a random going first. Other than her Staryu, the rest of her team was no problem, Rhyhorn didn't even know Earthquake, Stone Edge or anything intimidating by the looks of things.
I keep the part after the match just to show how many coupons you can win. But your coupons vary based upon how well you do in the overall 7 battle challenge. I know there's no proof this is rank 4, the highest and best rank, but you're just going to have to trust me.
I hope this is useful and helpful. For the Little Battle you have to have beaten the main game at least once, when you return here the Little Battle will be the only kind of battle you can do.
As for advice? Try and get mini forms of adult Pokémon, or even a mini-version of your regular team. So if you have a Houndoom with Flamethrower, Sunny Day, Dark Pulse and Solarbeam, breed a Houndour to have the same thing. Just remember that some moves and items are now rubbish. Grass Knot isn't very good for example, as only a few Pokémon that Grass Knot is okay against, are actually kind of heavy (Staryu for example). Leftovers is a rubbish item too, it heals you 1-2 HP per turn, use an Oran Berry or something else. This also makes Leech Seed less effective too, useful but a lot less effective. Also some Pokémon are rubbish or not there. There are no legendaries, and if you have an awesome Metagross, you can't breed an awesome Beldum as they know Take Down only. Other things similar to this are your Caterpie/Wurmple type bugs. If you have one of the Eeveelutions, you're going to get just Eevee. One bit of advice I think is good is look up baby things stats. Some babies are designed to have low stats due to their parents already having low stats. And some have high stats because their parents are already very high. I find Pokémon who never evolved but that have been given an evolution at a later point, such as Aipom (Ambipom in 4th generation), Sneasel (Weavile in 4th), Scyther (Scizor in Generation 2) and others like that are generally pretty good. Starters also tend to have nice stats too, but sometimes struggle with movesets.
Try to get good moves onto your little ones is basically what I'm saying, not Ember or Tackle, keep your advanced strategies and moves. I have another baby team as well, which I may show off in future to give you more of an idea of how this whole thing works. If you want to know about breeding moves, there's a link in the video to my breeding moves guide.
Please don't be nasty, and if you have any problems with this, please be very constructive with your criticism

Ok, how the hell can Staryu use Hydro Pump at that low of a level? One, it's genderless, so it can only breed with Ditto as such, and two, even if that weren't the case, it doesn't get Hydro Pump until 55. Proves Sashay's a cheater!

@respectthekick07 That is a very good point. I think I always assumed it was an Egg move of some kind (Starmie with Hydro Pump + Ditto = Staryu with Hydro Pump or something, like how some Male only Pokémon have Egg moves) but all of what you said is absolutely true. Meh! Makes beating her all the sweeter, illegal moves and I still thrash her!
