http://FierceWisdom.com The Day of the Dead. Shot this at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Los Angeles, for a scene from another short film i was working on based on my life in LA (that i canned for personal reasons).
At the time, i was moved by the event and decided to do a rough string-out about the celebration and release it immediately. It speaks to the joy we can find in knowing that life does not necessarily end after death...
Dedicated to my beautiful sister Ananda Colombo (1972 - 2006); to Brad Will (1970-2006);
to all of the ancestors who have come before, and all of those around us who are continuing on to the afterlife everyday...
Awesome video! This was my first time attending this event this year 2010!

It is a combination of the Catholic All Soul's Day and the Mayan belief of reincarnation. It celebrates the cyclical nature of life and death. The living lovingly remember the dead and but also mock the physical aspects of earthly power and materialism.

What a Freaking distortion of the traditional MEXICAN CUSTOM.. It looks more like a party than a solemn occasion.. Which is supposed to be EL DIA DE LOS MUERTOS..
