Seeley Booth and Temperance Brennan: "The Heavens Cry..." (6X09)

"He taught me how to love, but not how to stop...an impossibility..."

(The long introduction is for you to really digest the words...)

Thoughts on: "The Doctor In The Photo" (Feel free to agree or disagree, but I hope this makes you feel better! :D After I just tried to make you cry with my video lol.)

First off: WOW. This episode left me sobbing into my pillow, my poor little shipper heart shattering into a million zillion pieces. I've always had a flair for the overdramatic xD. But let's focus on the stunning aspects of this episode shall we? Our main heroine broke out of her scientific element and not once did she appear to be a caricature. She was very real. Finally she has "taken the plunge," stepping into the waters she has feared to explore until now. She gave herself over to the idea of fate...something she dismissed time and time again. She felt pain...but also love. She felt something. This is a win for the home team. Brennan is on the path of bettering herself and ultimately growing as a person.

For example, when you have an addiction, realizing that you have a problem is the first path to recovery. Applying this rule to the show, in Brennan's case, the acknowledgement of her mistakes and the pursuit of remedying those mistakes will allow her to heal, even if she didn't get what she wanted from Booth. Yes, she will always be torn up inside about him. But there will be an attempt for closure now (Because Brennan wants Booth to be happy, she will not pester or badger him. She will try to go about her life. And will hope. And we'll wait.)

I'm proud of the character. She took the chance and has her priorities in order. She can strive to live a happier life. She has friends who are a family. She is by no means alone. There is no question for Booth now (no doubt that she cares romantically for him). He received a "confession" from her, which is something he coveted from the very moment he uttered: "I'm the gambler..." As Booth witnessed her "fall apart" in front of him, in that moment there must have been a swell of unspoken admiration for her. He knows the difficult time she has with expressing her emotional side. Therefore, he has seen the long way she has come. He didn't look at her because the situation he has gotten himself into causes him pain. He had a catch in his throat and became misty eyed.

Although we have claimed that Booth has changed for the worse this Season, the light of the Booth we all fell in love with shone through in this episode. He was worried about Brennan and the toll the case took on her; he followed her and saved her from the "clutches of death" that rainy night. Even though he "rejected" Brennan, the choice was an honorable one. Would we really like it if Booth jumped into bed with Brennan? Thereby cheating on Hannah? (Maybe in our dizziest daydreams). But in reality, such a choice would disgust me. Booth has committed himself to Hannah. The man who spoke of soul mates and true love would never find himself in the "cheating" predicament. It is a realistic approach. (We can comment later upon whether or not it's realistic for Booth and Brennan to have taken five freakin' years to bring up the idea of pursuing a romantic relationship O.o).

In conclusion everyone, I think everything is okay. No, I do not know what direction the show will go from here. But I do know that I don't want Booth or Brennan groveling on their knees to win the affection of the other. The affection and respect is already there. No begging is necessary. The circumstances just need to be tweaked. The timing right. It has always been Booth and Brennan...and the presence of Hannah changes nothing. She adds more conflict and is a phase. It's still their story and always will be...Life always throws people for a loop. There's always been an issue with not being able to be with the person one wants to be with. But in this fictional world of the FBI and The Jeffersonian, I foresee a happy ending.

*Phew* I am so invested in these characters xD But I feel better. Amanda over and out. ;)

P.S. I for one am quite excited for the moment when Hannah finds out about the conversation that took place in the SUV that rainy night...I want sparks to fly baby!

A great video, really. I loved this episode even though it was so sad- but somehow it was one of the most beautiful eps so far. And one of the deepest.. I admire Bones for what she's done and the struggle she must have gone through, but I can tell she's my most favourite tv character of all times.
