Actually PS3's are capable of running full blown Linux (naturally, no modifications necessary - Sony welcomes it). So ja, PS runs on a PS3.
However, needless to say, computers are much better for *real* tasks - any way you look at it.
In 3 years PC components will kick PS3's ass and make it look like an outdated NES. PC's are always upgradeable PS3's are not.
Bottomline: PC=Win
