READ BEFORE COMMENTING - THIS WAS A GUY THAT SAID THIS ALL THE HORSEFORUM.COM IDIOTS WILL BE HAPPY NOW - HOWEVER I THINK HE DID WEAR PINK PANTIES - I know color has nothing to do with training, I am being sarcastic and making fun of stupid excuses that people come up with when their horse does not do what they want. It is not the whip, it is not the rope, it is not the special buckle or secret gear that makes good horses. All horses are born horses and a bad horse is never born they are made by people that don't know or understand horses.

My point, for the new or slow, is stop making and stop listening to excuses about horses. A horse is a reflection of the person handling it, a horse is not good because of gear, breeding, tricks or others things, it is a horse and the ones that are handled properly with understanding, timing, feel and rhythm are better prepared to succeed in our human domesticated world.

So the big point is, spend time with your horse, work on yourself and train yourself, when you get better - your horse will get better.

So the next time you hear someone call their horse stupid or dumb or blame their horse for something, you will know better, you will be able to see past what you hear and will understand that the horse is only giving back what it gets.

I know Clint had nothing to do this craziness, but since the comment was made about his purple rope stick/whip, I figure I would poke fun at him. He does not need any of you defending him or taking this personally, he is a big boy and I would bet he would find this type of logic funny.

Other excuses you can use if your horse don't listen:
he was oxygen deprived as a baby, he was neglected by his mom, his mom rejected him, he did not get enough milk, he left on him mom too long, he was taken off his mom too soon, he has bad feet, he is the wrong color, he has eye problems, he was abused, he was neglected, he is over weight, he is under weight, he had a bad trainer, he had a bad owner, he was a rescue, his mom was wild, he has poor breeding, he is over bred, he was a race horse, he does not like saddles, he does not like barns, he does not like his blanket, he is sugar deficient, he has too much sugar, he does like his hay, he is too hot since he is a TB or eats too much grain or only eats alfalfa, he is a dumb horse, he is a stupid horse, his eyes are too close, his eyes are too far apart, his swirl is in the wrong place, he has bad conformation, he was cut late, he is proud cut, she is in heat, she might be pregnant, he is a man's horse, he is a woman's horse, the grass is too rich, he just had his shots, he needs his shots, he is too hot, he is too cold, the farrier did his feet bad, he is scared of birds, he is scared of the wind, he is scared of other horses, other horses are mean to him, he loves me and everything else scares him, the whip you are using is the wrong color, the saddle don't fit, he is scared of stirrups. ANY OF THESE WILL WORK, but the only one's that are true are the following:

If you get the wrong answer, you asked the question wrong, if you are not clear your horse will not be clear, if you do good your horse does good, when you do it wrong your horse does it wrong, it is NEVER the horse's fault, a horse is a mirror of you, you get what you give, if you give confusion you get confusion, if you give poor directions you get poor answers, if you are scared your horse will be scared.
