Folklorist Pravina Shukla shares some of her professional interests as a scholar of material culture, focusing in particular on her recent work studying the significance of dress and body decoration in many different societies, including India and Sweden. She also speaks of her work as a professor in the Department of Folklore and Ethnomusicology at Indiana University Bloomington. The department is an internationally recognized center for the study of expressive culture and vernacular culture.
