  • Who owns the Mid South Wrestling tape collection? I'd venture to think it'd be Jerry Lawler but if that were truly the case I'd also venture to think that he'd want to get these classic matches shown on WWE OnDemand. I wonder if it's Lance Russell. Hmmm. whoever does, I wish they'd have them placed on TV. So many memories

  • @mrhollister09 What collection? None of it was saved except by accident. Most of this footage is from fans. Also, all the Jarrett/Welch CWA stuff is PUBLIC DOMAIN. Yes, Lawler can be a bit of a whore and, yes, he would certainly like to charge you to watch this stuff. Is that what you want? But what about the distorted fan footage from crappy old VCR tapes? How do you sell that on PPV? (Answer: Ya can't.) Case closed.

  • Nightmares were great bump takers, and more than willing to show their asses to make the match.Tons of respect for Ken Wayne and Danny Davis.

  • The main problem with wrestling today (sports entertainment) is the high quality of the recording of the action. The close angles and lit up environments show all of the flaws of the product. You often see missed punches or kicks and the communication between opponents. Not the case with old school wrestling. House shows were dark environments, I think the video was sometimes made staticy on purpose, and most often the footage was shot from a distance (with only periodic close ups).

  • Damn, this was FUN to watch. Luv it, luv it. Miss the good ol' days of rasslin....

  • these were great tag teams

  • @mrhollister09 on youtube it looks ok but if you were to try to show this on a normal size TV screen you would see just how horrible the footage is.

I wish they had saved it too and filmed more at the arena as well.

Lots of old territories are gone forever since no one kept masters of them.

  • i miss these days so much that it really hurts when I think about them.

  • @ChannelExtreme If Jerry Jarrett said that then Jerry Jarrett is a complete asshole. Memphis wrestling was a hotbed on so many levels. God, I'd love to see classic bouts featuring Rick Rude, King Kong Bundy, Randy Savage, The Road Warriors, Fabulous Ones, The Dream Machine, The Nightmares and Jimmy Hart. I know people love Jim Ross & to a certain degree I understand why, but Lance Russell was THE best. How many videos do you have sir?

  • @ChannelExtreme Wow really? That fuckin sucks man! By far Mid South Wrestling was the premier wrestling organization in the world IMO. The matches, angles, feuds, everything, even the wrestlers. Almost everyone who made it in the NWA and/or WWF came from Mid South. If Lawler has the golden stash like Ole Anderson has the golden stash of Georgia Championship Wrestling supposedly, he needs to put it on air asap! Show these young punks what wrestling was all about!
