if you look at 0:31 you see that Bea's top is glowing pink

Incidentally, I have episode 200 recorder off c5 a good decade ago & don't recall that flashback Bea had. I knew she was in for offing her bastard hubby, but hadn't remembered she topped the mistress too.

I agree. Bea was the best top dog. It wasn't the same when Dor was released & the whole Bea/Lizzie/Doreen team were soon a thing of the past. Bea had been released & even Lizzie by the time Dor came back for her last stint. Wasn't the same. Was never big on Jude.

This was one of the most moving scenes on Prisoner with Bea. Why didn't you show the rest?

@ilovepepe2 Not sure if it was a wig or they styled Lehman's own hair in a different way. The hair colour and length seems the same - easy to compare with the scene's cross cutting. If it was a wig, it is a good one - especially given Prisoner's low budget. Wigs were of course commonly worn in the 1960s so it is possible I guess.

It was good as it gave us a glimpse of what Bea was like before she became a murderer

The flashback is certainly set in the late 1960s. Bea was paroled for this murder in an episode broadcast March 1979 and the script specifies she has been imprisoned 10 years. Even if that includes the period of her remand and trial, the crime must have occured in the 1960s.

Bea's amnesia was my favourite ever Prisoner story. This campy flashback to Bea's original crime - the murder of her business partner in their beauty parlour business - is delicious. And critics said the show was intended as a serious drama. Clearly they were trying to make - and succeeded in making - great camp.
this show was so awesome when Bea was running the prison. once she left, it went from great to okay. Myra and Judy kept it from going downhill, but once those two were gone and they made people like Lurch have bigger parts, it sank. Not even Rita could save the show. I watched a few of the last episodes and would just tsk tsk at all the new characters they had trying to take the place of original and better characters. Looking forward to the US version of Bad Girls on HBO.

I watched this show everyday on WGN-Chicago and loved the story & the characters...especially Queen Bea! I was sorry when they stopped carrying it. Campy fun!
