Here is some CITV IVC, from 4-12-89 and it is presented by Jerry Foulkes & Scally the dog. It was recorded in the TSW region. This is Part 1 & it continues in Part 2. Apologies for the bad editing & poor quality in some places.

  • I've always wondered who/what won the ''Home And Away'' storyline competition that they mention (after ''Josie Smith'')? Shame I didn't record the following day's continuity (5-12-89), when they announced it! Oh well...

  • I recognize the voice of the dog... but I can't put my finger on it.

  • Scally the dog's voice was done by 3 different people, but on this occasion it was done by John Eccleston, who has done lots of puppeteering work over the years.

  • Strange how they had two logos/idents on the go at that time! I've always thought the green/pink/blue one came first and was then completely replaced by the one with the 'corporate' ITV logo in it, but obviously I'm misremembering as this clip shows that the two were in fact used alongside each other!!

  • Hi disremembrance. Actually, when Stonewall took over producing "CITV" in '89, they had their own logos/idents, which are the green/pink/blue ones & were used throughout the year. However, when ITV launched it's first corporate look in September '89, they created their own intro/outro idents to "CITV", which were used from then on replacing Stonewall's intro/outro ones, which were the same as the others. Their intro said "Welcome to CITV" & the outro was "You've Been Watching CITV".

  • will you be uploading any more CITV clips or old continuity etc.

  • If I find anymore then I will upload them of course, but sadly I don't think I have anymore at the moment...

  • Ghostbusters was CITVs flagship show at the time and of course the toys were big too. Ghostbusters fever had taken over kids in Britain at this time as the second film came out in December 89(yes we got it 6 months after USA)and I remember going to the cinema to watch it as a 6 year old. Friday's was a better day though overall as it was Ducktales and Fun House.

  • I can tell that you are from the beautiful West Country, because the Gus Honeybun birthday slots (which featured regularly on Westward and TSW) feature so eloquently on here. If only Children's ITV had included their own birthday greetings and also a news bulletin like they have on the BBC... ...as well as going on Channel 4/S4C when the Budget, football and other such programmes were shown in that slot...
