The devil used to be an angel named Lucifer, but he became jealous and tried to take the thrown from God, so he created hell for Lucifer and the angels that decided to go with him. You see hell was never made for humans. and think about it. what kind of a God would he be if he didn't give us a choice if we wanted to follow him or not. the only reason people go to hell is if the CHOOSE not to follow him.
