  • Gilels and Tamarkina.

    What a marvelous couple!

  • This is really something special, does Tanejev let Bach walk through 19th century Russia? But then a very strong, havy armed Bach it is.

There is more Taneyev music to admire, for example his symphony in c minor, or the awkward but beautiful Suite de concert for violin and orchestra.

  • Passacaglia in Russian Romantic colors! The steady tread and long thread, very difficult to bring off, drawing out intense playing from these marvellous artists. What a colossal work!

  • Taneyev's music is superb! Each part I hear from this Quintet I think: "This is the best part", and each time I'm wrong. All the parts are amazing!
