We took a look at the all new HP TouchPad at Extentia recently. Here's what we thought:

Heavy at 1.6 pounds
Rugged, and has a plastic back casing
Long time to boot at 1 min plus
Apps load quickly, and can be closed easily
App store could have more apps
Apps show up as cards onscreen
Needs WebOS login at first, constantly checks for WebOS updates
Just Type feature to find anything in the device
Single camera, when two is the norm in new devices
Hung up on us a couple times

  • Nice, very informative.

  • It is heavier than the iPad because it is built with internal inductive charging coils (TouchStone Technology) Boot up time is longer than the iPad because it has to connect with a you personal webOS cloud profile and sync to the most recent information before start up. Please remember app start up is longer due to your "synergy". You may google to understand how it works. unique features also include a dedicated number row, resizable keyboard, built in Skype, built in phone app and printer.

  • Dead

  • Looks solid too. I heard about the WebOS features, and $100 drop in price. And did you see today's news from HP?
