This isn't completely correct.
Your knee should never go to far forward past your ankle in the knee that is bent, it should be stacked directly over it or slightly back. Otherwise you will give yourself a knee injury by putting way to much pressure on it. This is a fundamentle thing we learn in yoga when doing the warrior.
