  • Hi Seth,

I"m auditioning for Memphis and am curious to know what song you think I should sing for auditions. I am aiming to impress casting folks enough to be considered for Felicia.

    Thanks!

  • @JaredWietbrock

yes, yes, yes! I love Seth and I love his reactions to all of these songs he deconstructs. And yes. I wish I could've sat beside him, too... Though I also liked sitting by Mr. Wietbrock. ;-P

  • I wish I could have been next to Seth when he saw this show for the first time. Montego Glover belts her face off the entire time, and I'm sure his jaw was on the floor in amazement :-)

  • @ak92092 I hadn't thought about The Producers when I penned those words, but now that you mention it perhaps a random synapse of mine drifted off toward the Producers for a moment. My SO was rehearsal pianist for it this winter at a community college, so it's been buzzing around in my head quite a bit.

  • @MinervasGarden You stole that line from the Producers! Where Roger is like: "is that scent you?? If i could I would bottle you up, I'd serve you under my arm pits every morning"

  • If I could bottle your facial expressions, I would literally drink it as a pick me up whenever I feel blue! These deconstructions make my day--thank you for posting.

  • The part that goes "Where the rhythm is hot and the music is reeeaaallll" sounds like it's going to lead into the part from It's Raining Men that goes "cuz tonight for the first time just about half past ten".... anybody?

  • Beale street is a very famous street in downtown memphis. They even mention it multiple times in the song "Walking In Memphis". I live here. I like the Edie Beale idea better though. haha Love you, Seth.

  • The beginning of that song reminds me of "It's a Woman's World". :) Another awesome deconstruction!

  • Definitely Beale Street....it's like the Bourbon Street of Memphis....but maybe not as crazy.

Seth, your deconstructions brighten my day. I don't want them to end!!! Perhaps you could continue on a weekly basis if not daily.
