Rochester Police Arrest Woman in Her Front Lawn For Filming Traffic Stop

On May 12th, A Rochester woman was arrested for taping a traffic stop in front of her 19th Ward Home. She was standing in front of her house with a hand held recording device when the arrest happened. Officer Mario Masic, Rochester Police Department, executed the illegal arrest.

Oh man, I'm a lawyer and stuff like this never happens around where I live. What an easy payday civil rights suit.... the lady shouldn't have cried, she should've just said "I'd like the city to cut the settlement check for the civil rights suit to my daughter's college fund, please".... man. Arresting her - $150,000. Trespassing on her property to do so - $25,000. Intimidation and abuse - $75,000.

Please, can't someone get a NJ pig to act like this? I'll reduce my cut to 25%!

And that is the risk she is willing to take in order to fight for our freedoms. So what? People film near roadside bombs in Afghanistan, your point?

I hope she sued them under 42 USC 1983 at the very least. If she didn't sue, she is committing treason and should leave this country.

Then the officer shouldn't keep his job. WE PAY HIS SALARY. If she said it to one of the girls in her neighborhood she would have gotten in a fight? No she would have probably shot the girl for trespassing on her property. jhnblz do you live in the United States? or a Communist Country?

And what does the 3rd Amendment say?  What does the 1st Amendment say? Shit, I could have a home security system filming the street as well. And guess what? THE SUPREME COURT RULED THAT WE HAVE A LEGAL RIGHT TO FILM POLICE. Don't Like It? MOVE TO NORTH KOREA.

I have a hidden cam that I use as backup and a phone that records audio. It's ironic that the blue states like California have all party consent when it comes to telephone tape recordings and Red States have only one party consent.

I've got a similar situation, except FAR worse than what this lady endured as far as charges go -- Cobb County tried to levy FOUR Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct charges against me for the grievous crime of "Disrespecting the Badge" -- saying "F*** the Police!" and - oh, HORRORS! Here comes the worst one... "The police SUCK!"

YEP. They took me *allll* the way to trial and they lost. I retained the best lawyer I could find and we've demanded a settlement.

It's a battle on multiple levels.  I am a protester, an activist, and a volunteer (unpaid) lobbyist for the rights of the poor and indigent to be respected. I will NOT tolerate the exploitation and enslavement of the poor to the wealthier classes who seek to punish the poor simply for being poor.

They just did here in Cobb County, GA.. One year ago, the police arrested me for cursing in public, and my lawyers won the trial last week. Next step (sorry, EsqDave, I'm in GA) - settlement. Sadly, it takes a REAL fight to preserve our rights and I am that right person here in Cobb County.
