Great stuff! Woke up feeling some 'old school' rock. Also looking for some Gong. Any fans?

Wow what a bass line, of the greatest I've ever heard.
I had listened to this song about 100 times, and never noticed about this fabolous bass line. Wow

And, the song is a real masterchief, and when I say a masterchief, it's a real one.
Congrats Jethro Tull, I can't stop listenin to this song for now 6 years(I'm 17).

Pure class and genius, they dont make them like this anymore!!
Why the hell do we have to put up with 'X-Factor' and why aren't they in the RnR hall of Fame?!?

Well spotted -- but most of the 100-odd thousand who stopped listening after part 1 are surely young and unfamiliar with prog length music. The attention span to follow a 45 minute song has to be developed over time.

That's a good point, I remember when I started listening to more prog stuff a couple of years ago. It took a while to get what was going on and develop listening skills. Definately worth learning.

I agree. I'm 17, and several months ago, I became interested in Pink Floyd (before that, the longest song I'd ever heard was probably seven or eight minutes), and they have 19 songs over seven minutes in length. It does take some getting used to, but a lot of bands like this can make songs long and good.

This song, as well, is quite good (I'm not finished listening to it yet). I can't believe kids my age think six-minute songs are long, but I was once in that spot, so I shouldn't complain.

Good for you Stig.
I also think it's not just length that puts off most younger people from exploring prog. I think the musicianship back than was the best rock has ever seen, and the players loved doing long instrumental passages. In fact there's a 'song' (sung) going on here maybe only a third of the time!
