The crazy folks at Hope Mennonite Church (in Winnipeg Canada) believe God wants us all to take care of the earth. And they want to show you 350 Bible references to "prove" it! View all of the verses at: http://hopemennonitechurch.wordpress.com/
The BP catastrophe in the Gulf demonstrates how terribly destructive our dependence on oil is, John, whether or not you think burning it is contributing to our changing climate. Is this way of life really reflective of God's call to care for the earth? The earth is dependent on our care just are we are dependent upon it. God intended that we remain good stewards of the very earth that feeds us
(Gen. 1:26). It's time we took that responsibility seriously, wouldn't you agree?
John - Thanks for taking the time to look at the video and the verses. Rather than debating climate change, let's agree that the God who made the heavens and the earth, cares about our earth and has called on humans to tend it. As in the rest of Scriptures, there are judgments for human behaviour that runs contrary to God’s call to humans – the Fall, the wilderness wanderings, the exile, in the Hebrew Scriptures and many other examples in the Gospels and in Acts.
There is a huge debate as to the way that "Data" is being provided and used along with pre-generated end results based computer programs that force some wicked scientists oppinions into "FACT". Please study both sides. There are 30 K scientists who reject the already mentioned, fallacy of man made global warming. If these people read the end of the bible we do not perish due to GW, God fights against rebellious humanity and in the end, he lights the planet on fire according to 1 or 2nd Peter.
Glen, I think you missed it...this post isn't about whether the CO2 science is right or wrong, for me its a reminder of what God wants for His world. Kudos Hope!
Nicely done, but ware using secular science to validate a biblical message. Make sure the science regarding CO2 presence in the atmosphere is truly threatening to human life.
The verse are true, but I question CO2 reduction as an appropriate application of those passages.
