As a result, thousands of innocent lives were saved. So, I'd rather waterboard three vicious terrorists than lose a few thousand innocent lives. Wouldn't you? Also, WWII was different. The enemy wore uniforms, represented countries, and usually fought on battlefields.

and I don't think this is the most dangerous times ever. WWII was worse. cold war was worse. yet, we didn't resort to torture than. (btw, being friendly with russia or supporting china is far more dangerous than the risk of terrorism, imho, at least in long run (no, that does not mean we should torture putin:)
