@matthewthecoolkid There's no apostrophe in the plural of teacher...

She's not very nice is she? And worse than that, she voted for McCain! That shows terrible judgement. I think people are concentrating on the wrong aspect of her voting record. Being unable to find a candidate you believe in is not a crime and could reasonably be put forward as a defense. But voting for Bush and McCain could not.

Meg is a villian... pure and simple.... only out for herself

@matthewthecoolkid Really, too powerful...I see. And what do you do for a living?

@matthewthecoolkid Are you the devils advocate? I just heard one something that gives me some hope, and I need to send in my 2 cents to Jerry Brown about this. As mayor of Oakland he realized that it is not continuous testing that makes for a better school system, as the conservative Meg Whitman and Michelle Rhee types advocate for, but it is something else. He is considering not allowing spending for new tests which would track both teachers and students on their standardized tests. Bravo!

@matthewthecoolkid isn't*

@Elin48 And have you seen the democrat's budget proposal? Mr. Brown is exactly starting off with an auspicious start is he? What has he done to cut the deficit and stop government spending? What programs has he cut? What jobs has he created? How come we have the largest deficit in California and continue to spend on a massive scale daily? How come we have the highest unemployment rate in the union? California is heading for bankruptcy, something that any state has yet to achieve. It's sickening.

@Elin48 The teacher's that protested in Wisconsin left their jobs right? Well who was at their school's teaching the children? Something tells me it's no longer about the kids anymore. Why are we rewarding meritocracy from our teachers? Benefits, salary, etc., should all be based on the performance of the teacher and passing rate of his/her students. End. Of. Story. Unions have become far too powerful, their cause was great, but they've lost their way.

@matthewthecoolkid ahh yes, but as governor she would have to, or would have supposed to represent everyone in the state, not just the corporations. It's a good thing she lost, all that money too in her bid as California's governor. If she had won, we'd be neck in neck with Wisconsin, with that governors anti labor practices. A sign of relief swept over me after it was announced that she had lost.

@matthewthecoolkid O.k., so we have one thing in common, sir (sorry 'bout the "Bubba').
She was saying she wanted to cut funding to community schools because she felt they deserved to be punished for their lack of prestige. I'm so glad she lost.
