PorchChase, Burleson, TX, 7/31/09: Here There Be Spiders (Anvil Crawler Lightning)

Storms formed along a stalled front to the south of North Central Texas and moved NE. Lots of heavy rain, some brief gusty winds, and lightning. This was taken after the main line passed - got a couple of beautiful anvil crawlers (the last one at 3:11 is GORGEOUS). Anvil crawlers my favorite form of lightning, lightning my favorite element of Storm. =] Of course, after this strike, batteries went *pffft* LOL And of course, after this strike missed some anvils right overhead. GRRR LOL

Taken from Burleson Pizza Company off Highway 174 and Newton Street -that's the traffic you hear. Burleson Pizza Co. is closing after tonight - WAAAHHH! They had the BEST pizza and breadsticks ... gonna miss them. They had a get together for their regular customers and employees. New pizza place bought them out: we'll see how good Mama's Pizza is. =]

Brilliant i had the sound turned up high when i turned on first , ( now deaf ) it must be incredible to actually be there, oh my yes its like a big spider running across the sky its amazing , many thanks again and have a great weekend , minus pizza :( God bless there , xxxxs xoxox Cathy

I can see why you like anvil crawlers. They are a fantastic sight to see. I need to do a little reading about the forms of lightening. I don't know much about it. Sorry to read about the Pizza Restaurant closing hopefully the new owners will make it as good.

Never saw anvil crawlers until I moved to Texas. First time ever I saw one, all that came to mind was that verse out of the Bible: for as the lightning flashes out of the east and shines even unto the west, so shall the coming of the Son of Man be. I'm like, I'm not ready yet!! LOL Thanks for watching and commenting!

Oh I got some good anvil crawlers coming up!

I dont see anything til the end, that must be it all huh. Nice clear crawler. One lightning in one of my videos coming up went so fast I has to slow down the playback to take the frames by frames snapshots.

Thanks, took long enough between strikes, and of COURSE, right after the second, batteries went *pffffffft* and missed two anvils directly overhead that were even more spectacular ... such is the life of a chaser.
