In this video i review the Boss Blues Driver distortion pedal and also the modified version by effects wizard Robert Keeley.

Taught by Justin Sandercoe.

Full support at the justinguitar web site where you will find hundreds of lessons on a wide range of subjects, and all the scales and chords that you will ever need! There is a great forum too to get help, no matter what the problem.

And it is all totally free, no bull. No sample lessons, no memberships, no free ebook. Just tons of great lessons :)

To get help with this lesson (and for further info and tabs), find the Lesson ID in the video title (like ST-667 or whatever) and then look it up on the Lesson Index page of justinguitar.com

Have fun :)

  • WAAAAY too much talking, dude. It's 3:10 before you play a note! Most of us know how to use a pedal, just get on with the comparison.

BTW, I couldn't tell a lick of difference between the two over YouTube, so I think I'll just leave mine stock.

  • @lucypitbulloakland ok, point taken.

  • @lucypitbulloakland From what I'm hearing on a bunch of Keeley Demos of the Blues driver, it seems the original has more dirt and gain to it.

Although I usually use the Blues Driver as a "signal buffer" for my 2010 Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier, I have enjoyed using the amp clean channel and cranking the Blues Driver as the distortion sound.

  • Hey it's Roger Waters!

  • Giving serious thought to buying a keeley blues driver, just wondering if its worth it though as I havent got a tube amp. Any thoughts?

  • not much difference at all on this video

  • @RafoRamone No you think? There's more than one dialect in England mate!

  • @skurtix england?

  • Cool accent! Where is it from?

  • I tried both and kept the Keeley one. Fat switch really adds the bass sound. You need to try it on a larger amp (speaker). Keeley rules!
