I like to experiment like Jim & Sam with my home brewing. Not like I'm trying to eventually go commercial. Although not a bad idea. I just turned 55 last week,& have drunk BMC's longer than many of you have been around. I've seen better beers than big corporate brews fall by the wayside. I finally just got fed up,& started researching & brewing. It's Always harder to create than to destroy. So let's all relax & enjoy some beers!!

I love Sam Adams and I love Jim Koch. He is the "Willy Wonka" of beer. He also designed the perfect beer glass.

This craft beer stuff is turning me into a drunk!

What makes the Sam Adams beers so great is simple and very difficult to achieve. Consistancy of product , freshness and devotion to the style. Many brewers will make a great tasting beer but thay have difficulty making that great tasting beer on a consistant basis. When that great tasting beer is delivered to the consumers and is old it no longer is a drinkable product.

I think craft breweries need to target the younger audience. I feel older people grew up with the mainstream beers and may be too late to change them. I am 26 and am always trying the oddest and most extreme beers I can find. You cant say price is a factor because a 12 pack of crap beer is equal in alcohol content to a quality micro-brew six pack and one actually has flavor other than foamy piss.

Well that's your opinion too...shouldn't you keep that to yourself then?....but i understand your point of view (even though I dissagree with it).... I mean...just because you didn't like what I said....

Rubber bands and skunks? You are silly. Sam Adams is one of the best breweries on earth.

by the way....are you guys hiring? haha
Hey people support local beer makers or you might loose them forever! Life is to short for cheap beer.

You have the right to your opinions - just keep them to yourself. Your snottiness is going to ruin it for the rest of us. The whole "since I make my own beer, I want to disparage anything that is commercial" attitude doesn't turn anybody onto beer. It just extends the snobbishness and nasty characteristics that say...wine connoisseurs have. If we are open minded and friendly, people will try to emulate us and try our beers. If we are snobby, they will not. It's that simple.
