Oddly enough, this isn't a public information film in the classical sense, this - as the end shot confirms - is an actual ad for Holsten. They just decided to go with the anti-DUI angle, which is good of them I suppose.

If you recognise the wife, it's probably because she's Barbie Wilde, the Canadian dancer, actress, writer and lady-type who appeared as a Cenobite in Hellraiser II, danced the robot on the Sooty show and interviewed Hugh Grant on "The Small Screen", an LWT Night Network show she wrote and presented.

I think this was a very clever move for Holsten. The fact that it contained the word asshole means we are still watching it over 15 years later and the reason the censors allowed the probably weighs very heavily on the drink driving message. I remember this was Christmas '95. They used to show it during Davina McCalls dating show, well after the watershed..

I remembering seeing this ad (I think it was first shown around Christmas of 1995) and being stunned that it had curse words in it, even though it went out after the watershed...

To this day, I can't think of another TV ad that has done this!

@ILoveES33 Yeah except this isn't a PSA, if you actually watched the whole ad you'd see right at the end that this is clearly a beer commercial.
