  • hello, your video is very interesting, I'm looking for a system to transfer the pictures of faces smaller (before drawing large) to have the best resolution on the figure. therefore I will try this technique. I wanted to ask if I can use the Liquitex matte gel? (because I have trouble finding the Liquitex matte medium in Italy). Thanks!

  • @MrScaurus81 The gel works fine you just have to make sure to let it dry completely. It can take quite a bit longer to dry than the regular medium. Also make sure you get all the pockets of wet gel rubbed out when you put your paper. Good luck!

  • just use an AD blender marker

  • @SaypheZonE A blender marker works well in many cases especially if you are only doing one layer of image on paper. This matte medium technique is definitely more work but it can achieve some results not possible with a blender. Check out part 2 of the video for some examples. Part 1 was just meant as a simple how-to. Part 2 shows some of the things it makes possible.

  • Hello! I like to transfer an image to a dvd case. I cannot tell what is the material of the cover on the case, it's something like backpacks are made of. Any clue if this technique would work on it? Or can you give me some advice, what kinda product should i use? I live in Europe, so please don't suggest any product by just the brand name, i need the function of the product.

    Thanks a lot!

  • @PetrusekHUN It should work but it isn't the easiest way to get an image on there. I would look into an iron-on paper/fabric that you print on with an ink jet printer. It's hard to say for sure without seeing the DVD material. If it is nylon or some other synthetic fabric it might not like a hot iron. You could also look into some kind of decal paper like "lasertran". If you just want one layer/image I wouldn't bother with transferring the image - find something to stick it on with directly.
