Animal Control Threatening to put down Entire Cat Colony

Does it seem fair to you that despite the fact the this colony is small (20-25 cats roughly), well taken care of (food, water, shelter, medical attention whenever possible and given homes whenever possible) and completely harmless, Animal Control is still threatening to take them all in, and put them down?

When is it ever right for us to decide to take these harmless and powerless animals, who are living happily, cage them against their will and kill them? The answer is never. To kill an animal simply for being is wrong, and we do not have the right.
