After one of the worst flights I've ever had, including the frustration of hour after hour of turbulence. This "over-night" flight, quickly turned into, "no-sleeping" flight due to the huge storm we flew right under, over the Atlantic. Luckily the train ride from Vienna to St Anton was smooth, comfortable, and of course the quick slideshow of the country side was beautiful.
Then I arrived at St Anton....to find the worst season in 50 years, basically it hadn't snowed since before xmas, so much of the steep/off-piste terrain I had been studying was bullet-proof and closed down. So I tried to make the best of it, skiing like a European...tons of vert, all on the trail, and hopping bar to bar on the way down. Other then a partially torn MCL on the last day at 3pm, it was still a good trip. Amazing terrain and boy do they do Apres Ski in style out there!
Note: The Arlberg is the region or group of 6 ski resorts around St Anton, where you can ski all resorts on one pass. The Arlberg is in the Tyrolean Alps in Austria.
Austrian Ski Patrol Note: I thought it was odd that I didn't see a single ski patroller in 3 days of skiing, then I realized how they roll out there...if you get hurt, call the chopper, and they'll drop two patrollers' and a litter right on top of you and heli you out directly to the hospital in the valley.
What a great system!

Well it did cost me a partially torn MCL on the last day, cause there's like no snow, but you'll love the apres ski! It's off the hook and make sure you find yourself at the Moosevert its the bast party in town!
