Much Symbolism and Irony in this movie. In response to all evil done to him, he became more evil than those that had done evil to him. In the end he was killed by the very instrument (razer) that he professed as "friends". As for Mrs. Lovett, she died by the very man she was fiercely loyal to in the very furnace that she cooked people in.
