Critical Mass cyclists should need a permit for these parades. Having a permit means:
Your drivers license gets revoked.
You get a fine if you are seen driving or being driven in car or bus (including ambulances and hearses).
You are forbidden to go shopping, since all goods are transported by motor vehicles.
Your salary gets adjusted to the level of Soviet Russia in the 60's (Great example of a almost carless economy).
If you want less cars, arrange free public transportation.

@Blackwater200 That is just retarded. You can't ride-baby-ride in the winter snow, or if you commute 40 miles each way to work. It's nice that you can cruise around a physically tiny city with temperate weather most of the time but the reality for most people in the country is that that just isn't an option.

CM may have been about the environment and health in the beginning, but it's long lost those goals. Now it's about getting as many bikes on the road as possible and disrupting traffic (both vehicle and ped) as possible during the ride through. It's unfortunate that it's now turned disruptive instead of helpful. But, that's what happens when you get far too many bikes on the road. Ultimately, It's going to end in confrontation... and YoutTube proves that with all of the CM videos here.

Hopefully it's in the last Friday of the month.. and you encounter other Critical Mass riders blocking the street :)
