'my girl my girl dont you lie to me tell me where did you sleep last night, in the pines in the pine where the sun dont ever shine'... where godlessness exists? 'her husband was a hard working man just about a mile from here his head was found in a driving wheel but his body was never found'... so poetic, impact like a song from any generation but delivered with subtlety. thank you for posting

Very Nice! Always is good listen the original version!
-
I think the remake was about "that white girl">!
-
why cant you people just listen to the song and stop this ..." oh Nirvana's.. verison sucks, ... this sucks blah blah" no one version is better than the other let each do it their own way. A good song is a good song weather its by Leadbelly, Nirvana, Bill Monroe, Long John Baldry etc....

song dates as far back as 1870's

this wasnt the original either....this is just leadbelly's interpretation of a classic folksong. No disrespect. i LOVE his version :D

Here's what you all mean to say: Thank you, WZRD, for making another version of this song and then making me curious enough to check out the original, which I thought was Nirvana, but nope!
Shut up about other bands on Mr. Belly's video, please.
