Why is it so hard to imagine social democracy actually working to benefit all people? Its not like this guy is talking about full blown Stalinist Communism. Wake the fuck up fellow Americans our, "Capitalist" Democracy is not working anymore because it is basically a Fascist half ass Democracy. Social Democracy is the best possible solution to fix a majority of the issues..

The implementation of Marxist ideology caused the deaths of over 100 million people in the last century! North Korea is the reality, the utopia these over grown students dream of can never exist because marxism & Socialist ideology ignores basic human behaviour. For example if you get paid exactly the same amount for not working very hard as for working hard then the incentive for working has been removed & the standaed of living which depends on productivity collapes i.e East Germany.

What a moron on cocaine. The reason we are mad about AIG bonuses is because WE PAID FOR THEM you idiot.
This guy babbles out half thoughts one after the other with no analysis and no consequence and no implementation. It's a big emotional hatefest and dreamlist, and he needs to stop snorting buckets of cocaine.

Bravo, this speech was incredible! Socialism FTW!

I'm glad the hardcore western capitalism never settled here in Norway. Socialists are dominating every election, and life is good. Our so called "right-wing-conservatives" are even considered far left compared to the US' "left". Get with the times, America.

WHAT COULD WE DO WITH THE MONEY??
Interesting question. Has anybody considered the actual structure of the differential holding of money (or money credits) and thought - though crazy and immoral - perhaps the tiered economies where the Beckhams or Trumps pay £1m for a watch etc while others eat off $20 a week are necessary in some way; in so far as if these people either stopped spending lavishly or started buying cheap commodities and consumables it would cause problems re our access and use?

This is dry like the wild west. Check Marx Reloaded.

With respect for your being an upfront socialist and for actually daring to quote publicaly the great spectre of communism himself, you don't get his critique of capitalism. The fault, dear comrade Jones, lies not in production's being "unplanned." I'll get back to you with details.

@racecar2323 you are right

Poor America they will have to suffer much more before their citizens who will forget mindless consumption will become flag bearers for the emancipation of the global workforce. Terribly sad and some ray of future hope for all of us on this planet. Go America trial by FIRE and don't allow the repeal of the 2nd amendment. Do NOT genuflect tyranny the world will welcome true global and concerned citizens just like the prodigal son. Amen. Love and light.
Arguments that attempt to justify capitalism on some abstract "human nature" are ridiculous. Firstly capitalism has only existed as the dominant system on earth for the last 200 years. Less than 1% of how long human beings have existed. Secondly, Anthropology teaches us that besides the basic social structures to meet our biological needs, gather food, raise children ect., there are very few if any universal qualities of all human societies.

@pstolson "If your writing is any reflection of your capacity to think ... You exemplify that disposable unit of human meat clowns like Brian Jones"
Anyone writing a phrase such as "human meat clown" has no right to criticize anyone else's writing.
If your writing is a reflection of of YOUR capacity to think, it's clear that capacity is severely limited. Disposability is an essential characteristic of capitalism, an economic system lacking both conscience and national allegiance.
