@Messylin Oh my gosh, you said it! I never thought of that! It would have been amazing to see her play it! It would have been really interesting too, since her mother was a lot like Rose. That could have made her say no though. Perhaps they asked her when they were doing the movie. When did it come out?

People really need to stop saying Bernadette was miscast and that she had vocal problems. Yeah, she was really sick for the first 2 months of the run, but for the rest of the run she sounded incredible! (I should know, I was a PA on the show the entire run) And STOP COMPARING HER AND PATTI! It really does not matter! It is like trying to compare Michael Jackson with Madonna or Cher and Bette Midler. They are are all so different...just like Patti and Bernadette. Comparing them is getting old!!!!

I think this is the greatest role Judy Garland never played. I mean Garland was THE genius of performance art. Imagine what she would have done with this.
