1. Remove panel starting from the bottom (notice the 2 snaps from the video).

2. Scoop the earpiece out using a screwdriver.

3. Bend the metal pieces(red arrows in pic) with a screwdriver so that their ends come out from the plastic slots.

4. Put the earpiece back in its place so that the black arrow printed on the earpiece is pointing towards the front panel camera.

5. Panel back in place and U R DONE!

  • maybe its a stupid suestion but why did you do it for? for the touchscreen or for the microphone?

  • There is a known manufacturing problem with the phones earpiece. It appears when making a phonecall, the volume jumps up and down. In this video I demonstrate how to fix it yourself, but be aware that the warranty doesnt allow you to open the phone, so dont leave a trace.

  • man i bought my 5800 from dubai and here in canada they cant fix it coz its not a "canadian phone"...if i wanna fix it myself were am i supposed to get the nokia 5800 earpiece from??...thank you

  • You dont have to buy a new piece. Just open the phone etc follow the instructions from my vid ;)

The idea is: to make a better contact point between the two point as shown in 0:18 with the contact surface (on the phone). Apparently, the problem is caused by loose contact.
