The year i graduated HS. I was deep into new wave and two tone and knew nothing about the rasta youth playing hardcore. If I had picked up on them back then, I can only imagine the human I'd be now. a fun but still melancholic exersice.
Great quality!!! Much better than copies I've had. Having seen all of the tours from 1982-1990, the first stuff still resonates the most with me. The I Against I tour was ferocious as well, but the "ROIR TAPE" time-frame--that was it.
I saw Bad Brains in 2001 in Memphis TN. OG lineup (Candaria opened up, they also kick ass). Excellent show, met Doc Know and HR before the show. HR was quiet, constant grin on his face, very friendly, soft spoken. I told Doc I was a fan since 1987 and he said, "you're not a fan, you're family." They both signed my Bad Brains Live CD cover. I can die a happy man..
again, priceless!! It was great to see them in New Orleans, but the first time it was with a different singer, HR was not in the line up, and then the 2nd time, it was the complete line up with HR and it was great, got to speak my feelings to the man after the show right before or as they were getting into the van!!
what a great discovery! i have an extensive collection of live bad brains videos, tapes, records, etc., but none from 1981.this is the missing link between the "My Picture at the Movies Baby CBGB's 79 show and the LIVE 83 DVD. they haven't even peaked yet! it's all warped and and distorted, but the diamond is shining bright through the rough!
fucking shredding!!!!
