Many shots are pretty closely based on the comic.... I have a couple of those old volumes, I remember the mummy with the tea, the big egg, the bath scene, the cigarette... there is such a strong element of fantasy in this movie world that I think we can forgive the realities of dactyl eggs. This comic was steampunk before it was cool. I don't see us arguing reality with Jules Verne.

Great in-joke! The wooden figure on the floor at 0:07 is the idol from the 1935 Tintin book 'The Broken Ear' The figure HAS a broken ear. Have seen the whole film, and yes, it's as wonderful and bonkers as the trailer suggests. Louise Bourgoin is quite delicious. Oh, you would...
