Praga V3S truck trial -perfect driving skill

hi, looking for some help. my friends v3s has a suspected fuel problem, lot's off white unburnt diesel from exhaust and rough idle like it's not running on all cylinders. as you have experience with these awsome trucks would you have any sujestions? thanks,

Hello. At first, check right function of all fuel injection nozzles. One, or more can work not properly that causes lot of unburnt fuel and not running on all cylinders. If not: clean all fuel pipes (from diesel injection pump to cylinders), change fuel filters, check fuel delivery pump. Also clean fuel tank and pipe from tank to delivery pump. I hope, you will make it. Respond if it´s done. Good luck!

If all of this will be done and engine will doing the same, in the worst case it´s wrong function of diesel injection pump.

Is this a 'standard' noise of PV3s engine, or something was modified?

This PV3S has turbo-charged engine. But nothing else important.

OK. I asked, because it sounds like a Tatra, and I don't have the opportunity to see and listen to these trucks anymore (I saw last PV3s in Cracow about 10 years ago).

Yeah, you are right - PV3S sounds like Tatra because it has the same engine, exactly one half of Tatra 111 V12 engine, which has 14.8 L and around 180 Hp. Then PV3S has Radial 6 cylinder engine 7.4 L with around 100 Hp.

@Mikkisko19 not radial, inline 6 cylinder... Radial engines have rows of 7 or 9 cylinders and are generally used in airplanes.

ještě se může jednat o verzi V3S T.. ta byla seriově dvounápravová

Třetí náprava není potřeba vzadu nemá korbu na kterou by dal naklad ani nic takoveho takže by to byla zbytečná váha.
