  • Thanks for the heads up on imstillworkin, that is exactly what I was looking for. Also, thanks for the videos, you crack me up. Always!!

  • Do the same with your carrots!!

  • When dehydrating cabbage,, chop to size you want and thendrop in boiling water for one minute.. then remove and put in ice water.. drain and dehydrate.. it reconstitutes a whole lot better.. Happy Dehydrating!

  • I have one of those white round dehydrators. It says to cook for 6 to 12 hours but mine took 5 days to dry!!!

  • The way you are waving that knife around, it's a good thing you didn't add any fingers to that celery mix ;)

  • i tried drying celery n cabbage umpty-dump yrs ago n got the same results u did. i don't like frozen celery either, so i took 2 canning my celery n i like it just fine. i appreciate ur videos n getting a real big kick out of all the men i see on yt cookin' n cannin ' n gardenin'. when i grew up, 2/3 of that was 'wimmen's work' when i had only sons i made them all learn 2 do all the things i was taught. they mostly don't do the food preservation part, but they knew, so its not my boggle, lol. • Great vid! GOD BLESS!

  • Ha, we have the same dehydrator!!! Will try the cabbage this summer!

  • Just like canning, dehydrating has it's rules too. On some veggies you need to blanch, toss into boiling water for about 30-45 seconds. It makes all the difference in the world. Onions are another veggie you should blanch too. Anyway, Tammy at Dehydrate2store is fantastic, and I even purchased the Excalibur, and it is much better than the round dehydrators I used to have. I store entire dehydrated soups in canning jars, add my canned meat, and I have stew, soup, or any dinner I want. Fast too
